So, this happens A LOT throughout high school and middle school...gossip. Whether good or bad, gossip can tear relationships apart and cause major self-esteem issues.
From Luci,
I have this issue that whenever I'm in class or something and someone is chatting behind me, I think that they're talking about me. It's not that I'm egotistical and think that my name should be every ones mouth, its just that I want everyone to like me. When friends come to me and gossip about other people, I cant help but wonder, "are they gossiping about me behind my back?" Basically to help myself get over this, I've just kind of ignored it. I try to logically explain to myself that I am not the center of the universe (even though I should be, I'm amazing....jk. kinda). Also, I try not to gossip about other people so I don't put people in my shoes if you know what I mean.
From Saydi,
I have that same feeling Luci has but its worse for me. If i see people laughing and know they don't get along with me i freak out and suspect the worst. I try to tell myself whenever there is gossip about me that as long as the people who are close to me know it isn't true I'm all good, but it's not. It's even worse when your friends get involved in it or believe it, you feel like the whole world is caving in. All in all it's just gossip and you play your cards right and it will go away and everyone will either believe you or forget about. I have lost a friend due to gossip, it was a guy, and we liked each other but then someone started gossiping and it blew up. Everyone including Luci is convinced we went out but we never did. IT WAS JUST GOSSIP! so all in all it should blow over.

A rant from Luci...
So, I'm just kind of bored and I really need to vent, so, since I'm treating this like my personal diary, that's exactly what I'm gonna do.
A word of advice...never fall for a player...just don't. I can tell you from experience. I am head over heels for this guy who just so happens to be a major player and it sucks! There is very little trust happening. Even when they tell you that they've given up their inner-player and that they don't want to hurt you, you still have this sinking feeling that they're lying. Every time they don't text, your mind suddenly jumps to, "oh great, he's with another girl...he probably doesn't even think about me". But when he does text you, he manipulates you into thinking you're the only thing on his mind. Really, he doesn't even care, he just wants to get in your pants or to flaunt you to all his friends (or both). Just don't fall for them. Seriously, do everything you can to not like them. He is most definitely not worth your tears.
I wish I could take my own advice but sadly, I will still be pining after him until he tells me to leave.

She Knew Too Much...
So, here's an issue that occurs frequently throughout middle and high school (and possibly throughout life but who knows we're only high schoolers here)...you have a friend and you tell them everything (like, I mean EVERYTHING) and then you and your friend fight and aren't friends anymore. Now here's the thought that runs through my mind...OH SNAP I'M GONNA DIE!!!!!!!!! But there are several approaches you can take to manage this kind of loss...
From Luci,
-Well. You could always take the Pretty Little Liars way out and hit the person with a car but I would not advise that (apparently murder isn't legal in most states). For me, I just have to trust them. I have to think, okay if we were really ever friends then he/she must know how much that would hurt if word ever got out. This is your friend, they know you better than anyone in the entire world...i think they know not to tell your secrets (no matter how mad they are). Plus, they're in the same boat, you, my friend, know everything about them!
From Saydi,
-If murder isn't your style you can pull a Saydi and live in fear....it isn't the best tactic but i works...somewhat. I had a friend and she knew so much. We hung out all the time then we had a huge blowout. Ever since i have been so afraid that she will tell. Step one of living in fear (the most important one too) is never start anything that will get them angry and want to tell people. Sure you could give up all their secrets too but you will seem a lot less shallow if you don't, plus people will trust you not them.
Well, good luck!!!

Identities
So, this whole anonymous thing isn't really working out for us...way too confusing if you know what I mean. So here's the deal, I'm Luci (the senior) and my sister is Saydi (the freshie). Just so we don't confuse ourselves or you! :)

What Every Girl Cares About...BOYS!!!
Now, here's a question that every girl has pondered about every guy, why the heck are they afraid to show us that they do in fact possess emotions and are not just blank minded neanderthals...
The one thing every guy isn't afraid to show, unfortunately, is humor. They make attempts to hide or avoid what they are truly feeling by using sarcasm. This is their mask and it can hurt. I don't know if you've ever met a boy who hasn't used sarcasm but we sure haven't. Sometimes their sarcasm can hurt and make it feel like they don't even care at all or that they think you're ugly or fat or something. Their mask inadvertently makes us hate them instead of fall for them. I (the senior) have this guy who's more than a friend but not quite my boyfriend. When we text, he tells me I'm beautiful and that I'm funny and all this great stuff that every girl wants to hear. But man, when he's around other people it's like he's a different person. Once, when we were in a practice, we were joking around about my arm flab (sounds ridiculous but go with it). We were joking and what not and he accidentally said I was fat (sarcastically of course). I knew he was being sarcastic but it still hurt...like a lot. It took a lot of explaining on his part and a lot of unnecessary compliments for me to forgive him. Their mask hurts and I think if they just were serious for like five minutes, things would be a lot different!
I'm the Freshie and I'm the one with a boyfriend. Now i have been able to get him to show some emotion, but it took some time and A LOT of effort. Boys want to keep up their "manly" reputation and apparently (i don't know who thought of this) it is too girly to show emotion. Their considered "whipped" or "gay" depending on who's doing the insulting.
Ugh...like we'll ever actually figure out what goes on in guys minds!!!!!

Starting Out
This is actually two people and we're sisters. The reason this is titled EmpoweringAcceptance is because those are our words for the year. I am going into my senior year in high school and want to empower myself and gain confidence. I find myself lacking confidence even to simply speak to people casually. I worry about what people think and how I am going to be accepted. Lately I've been realizing that we only have one life to live and if we're going to live it we might as well live it big...without being afraid. My sister is going to be a freshie and she wants to be able to accept herself and be accepted. She wants to be accepted by not only herself but by others as well. She figures starting her changes as a freshman would be the best way to have them fully embraced without being looked down upon in the school community. Basically we're just going to be pouring our hearts out here :)
